At the beginning of every school year, the pupils elect a school council. The council is comprised of representatives from across the school and is led by the council leaders, who are chosen from Year 6.
The council meets every month to discuss issues that are important to the children in the school, and to plan events such as stalls for the school fair or a disco.
The school council has made a number of important decisions that have been acted on by the school over the years. These include changing the school’s uniform policy, promoting a ‘buddy system’ to help look after younger children in the school playground and helping to organise a yearly disco.
The school council plays a crucial role in helping the school to develop its core values of Community, Respect, Endurance, Honesty, Fairness and Friendship.
